PLPG Presents at the 2nd Annual Residential Assisted Living National Convention
State licensing regulations, local zoning ordinances, and federal laws converge in an interconnected web that can be confusing for residential assisted living developers, but with the right guidance, RAL developers can successfully navigate this legal environment. Toward that end, PLPG’s Michelle Pinkowski presented two sessions at the 2nd Annual RAL NAT CON focused on understanding the legal environment facing the residential assisted living industry. Several hundred RAL developers and operators attended the sessions and shared their own experiences of speed bumps on their journey to developing their RALs, such as zoning regulations that limit the number of residents, restrictive covenants and deed restrictions that purport to exclude group homes, etc. Michelle offered practical solutions to overcoming these frustrations so developers can get on their way toward providing needed care for our seniors and other disabled populations.
